HEARTSAVER ® CPR, AED, & FIRST AID
American Heart Association courses focus on preparing lay providers with the timely and efficient skills of cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and using an automated external defibrillator (AED). Heartsaver courses are available for individuals seeking certification for employment or personal knowledge and skills enhancement.
· Heartsaver Instructor-Led - trainings are conducted in a classroom setting and consists of group interaction, hands-on coaching, and
feedback from a certified AHA instructor. Face-to-Face courses include social distancing in accordance with CDC recommendations.
· Heartsaver Blended Learning – courses consist of an online portion that participants complete at home or wherever internet services are
accessible.
Following successful completion of the online portion, participants are required to complete a hands-on skills session with a certified AHA Instructor.
Heartsaver First Aid Basics Includes:
· Medical Emergencies
· Injury Emergencies
· Preventing Illness and Injury
· Legal Questions
· Skills Testing on:
o Identifying the problem
o Removing gloves
o Use of the Epinephrine Pen
o Controlling Bleeding and Bandaging
